The endearing Boman Kohinoor was one of the highlights of a visit to Britannia, he passed away a couple of years ago. Now his son Afshin runs it. Housed in an old building in Ballard Estate, you get transported in time when you visit. Britannia began with Continental food, catering to British tastes. Once the British left, and Boman`s wife Bachan began to be involved, they brought in Persian cuisine with their chicken berry pulao, baklava, dhansaak, fish patra, custard etc.
A typical Mumbai Parsi Restaurant since 1923. A Century year old food outlet. Its still kept in the same condition as it was built. Its still have the same vibe and always its still crowded. The food is not very sicy yet tasty. The special Items to try are the Berry Pulavs & the Raspberry and Ice-cream Soda.
If you`re a fan of rustic, antique ambience and the old Mumbai vibe, then Britannia restaurant is a must-visit. The restaurant successfully captures the essence of old Mumbai and takes you on a journey back in time. However, the food quality wasn`t up to par. My order of egg curry and the famous veg pulao with berries lacked flavor. Its a famous Parsi restaurant. Despite this, the prices are quite high. If you`re looking for a unique dining experience and willing to splurge, Britannia is a good choice for a one-time visit.

Britannia & Co. is famous for its authentic Parsi cuisine, which is known for its unique blend of flavors and cooking styles. Great atmosphere, Mr. Kohinoor is a sprightly 90 yr old who`ll Spain the most wonderful tales. oh and food is great too. chicken berry pulav and mutton pulav veg kabab and Bombay duck and patrani machhi followed by custerd and raspberry soda it`s heaven for parsi cuisine. many thanks 😊
